Darts: Crawford steps into the Cambs A team and stars in win

Cambridgeshire hauled themselves off the bottom of the British Inter-Counties Premier Division standings by winning a basement battle against fellow strugglers Surrey.
Cambs also jumped clear of the relegation zone after a stirring last stand in the final session of the men's A team clash secured a 24-15 overall victory including three bonus points.

Simon Cassidy, Eddie Martin, Steve Roberts and Paul Crawford provided the late drama by hitting a hot streak when it mattered most – Crawford had only been called into the side after impressing in his B team game the previous day.

Cambs had endured a mixed opening day – their Ladies B side going down to defeat after Fiona Coker, Sue Bell, Debbie Melton and Heather Phillips were beaten in the first four contests before the men's B bunch claimed a cracking success. (full article...)
