Reigning PDC world champion John Part has told Sky Sports News he is confident of retaining his title at Alexandra Palace.
The 2009 World Championships get underway live on Sky Sports 1 on Friday, with 13-time world champion Phil Taylor starting as odds-on favourite to add to his remarkable rally.
