DENNIS Priestley is through to the second round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship after a 3-0 win over New Zealand number one Warren French.
The Menace coasted through to the win but it was hardly a vintage performance from the veteran who would have likely fallen to a more accomplished opponent.
But Priestley will be pleased enough to reach the post-Christmas second round after falling at the first hurdle 12 months ago.
Kiwi French struggled through his preliminary round match against Japan's top thrower Akihiro Nakagawa on Friday night and it appeared that Priestley would have a simple time in seeing off the traveller at the Alexandra Palace.
