HALLE Darter Co Stompé heeft de dartswereld verbaasd door de German Darts Championship te winnen.

Phil Taylor verslagen
In de finale versloeg de Amsterdammer niemand minder dan de nummer één van de wereld, Phil Taylor. Eerder op de dag had Stompé onder andere al gewonnen van Andy Hamilton. Stompé won de openingsleg van de vierde set en de sensatie was compleet toen hij de leg van Taylor brak, die de regerend kampioen van de Greman Darts Championship was.

Hoger op ranglijst
Door de overwinning zal Stompé een reuzesprong maken op de ranglijst en hij kon 25.000 euro mee naar huis nemen.
